Jonathan grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke, Virginia and fell in love with Hilton Head Island 30 years ago while coming to Sea Pines each summer for the family beach trip. 

After graduating summa cum laude from NC State University in chemical engineering and marrying his high school sweetheart, he has spent the last 20 years travelling the world and progressing through ExxonMobil’s leadership development.  Travels took him throughout the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and included four years living in the idyllic New Forest on England’s south coast.

While working, Jonathan completed an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and this led him from engineering to the economics and strategy behind major investments.  Most recently he works in venture and business planning management roles for global refining and chemical investments ranging from $100M to $5B. 

With the birth of the first of two children in 2014, his family made Hilton Head Island officially their second home, and with remote work made possible during 2020, they decided to call Hilton Head their true home in paradise.
