A resident of South Carolina since 1974, Brad Tholen, his wife Lynda and their young daughter moved to Beaufort County in 1990. Their family grew to include a son, born on Hilton Head Island in 1993.

Previous work experience includes custom cabinetry design, construction and installation prior to which Brad spent 20 years as a radio broadcast professional and an award-winning recording studio engineer and producer. Brad started his home inspection career in August 2000 and has since inspected thousands of structures of all shapes and sizes. The skills Brad learned in his previous careers helped him to communicate complicated construction defects in a manner which is easy to comprehend. Clients and referral partners responded resulting in the development of a highly successful home inspection business. In 2013 is was time to branch out on his own and Brad Tholen Home Inspectors was born. The company was rebranded as Horizon Home Inspectors in 2017 as a result of his growing team of inspectors.

Brad and Lynda now love helping to raise their grandchildren, traveling the region in their "Glamper" and enjoying life in the Lowcountry like summer afternoons on the banks of the May River, a short golf cart ride from their home in Bluffton.
